Stratta’s “Trends in Tile”: Cork, Leather Tile and More
Check out Design NJ’s current issue where Stratta discusses “Trends in Tile”!
When Design New Jersey magazine assigned writer Robin Amster the task of finding future trends in tile, she turned to the expert tile design team at Stratta, the Tile Boutique for a look into the tile trends of 2014 and beyond.
Stratta’s founder Nicole Sakosits sat down with Robin Amster for an exclusive interview (found only in the upcoming issue of Design New Jersey magainze), where the future of tile trends was discussed in detail.
In the interview, Nicole and Robin discussed the ways in which tile is adapting for the future, and some great ways that home owners, interior designers and office developers can make their tile solutions more environmentally friendly, sustainable and attractive.
Here are some key points from Stratta, the Tile Boutique’s upcoming “Trends in Tile” article with Design New Jersey magazine.
“Trends in Tile” for 2014 and Beyond
1. Cork Tile.
Cork tile blends comfort, durability and environmental sustainability into an attractive interior design choice for your home or office. Cork can be safely harvested every ten years or so without killing the tree, producing little to no negative impact on the environment. The durability of cork also provides your home with surfaces you don’t have to spend much money to protect.
What’s more, cork is naturally resistant to mold and mildew, doesn’t attract pests, and is fire-resistant. Also, cork’s anti-microbial nature helps keep your surfaces healthier and safer for you, your employees and/or family.
2. Leather Tile.
Some of Stratta, the Tile Boutique’s most trusted business partners (including EcoDomo) create beautiful, sustainable tile out of leather. Leather is a highly recyclable material for use in interior design, limiting the impact leather tile’s production has on the environment.
Leather is durable and malleable, leading to inventive design creations. It also retains heat well, potentially lowering your home or office heating costs. And leather’s natural comfort on the body allows you to utilize a comfortable-yet-lasting flooring option for your space.
3. Seashell Tile.
Want a naturally-created, visually stunning design option for your next tile project? New creators of seashell tile are producing high-end, aesthetically beautiful products that extend from your bathroom to your counter space – and beyond.
Seashell tile can be naturally created, made from beautiful ceramic, or crafted from durable concrete. It can be constructed in tile or mosaic for striking visual results. Experiment with water or seaside themes, or step outside the mold for varied, unique interior design and tile projects!
